Enlarged pores full of dead skin cells and oil- how do I make them shrink?

I'm 22 yrs old and have slightly oily skin. I rarely get pimples but recently I started washing my face only once a day because I am very busy. I noticed that the pores on my nose and on the sides of my nose have gotten visably larger and are clogged with dead skin cells and oil. If I squeeze them, a little kernal of it comes out but they never form into pimples.

I've tried using the Biore pore strips, but those will only remove about 20% of my pore clogs and a week later they are back! I've also tried that popular Apricot scrub for faces and a black head scrub from Neurogena. I don't like using too many products on my skin in a short period of time because my skin will just get irritated. I'm sick of being my own lab rat- any advice from someone with the same problem?

ok..i used to have the exact same problem as u..but instead of the nose strips..just wash your face in the morning (in the shower) and at night before u go to sleep...this way you wont have dirt clogging your pores

then go out and buy the Biore astringent for blackheads (the liquid is green) and after uve washed and dried your face, put some on a cotton ball and wipe your whole face with it..concentrating on the nose area or where ever youre getting black heads

i can guarentee that you will see a difference within 2 weeks
Reply:Number one, wash your face twice a day and DO NOT PICK AT YOUR FACE!!!! This makes it worse. A very good line for this problem is Clinique. It is sold at department stores. It is not expensive, but it does cost more than you mass retail brands. The nice thing is, if you try it for 3 weeks and dont like it you can return it. Clinique has a 3 step skin care system that is excellent for your skin concerns. There are different levels of this system. You can go in and have a free consultation done by a beauty adviser who will give you a facial, teach you about skin care, and recommend the right products for you.
Reply:I would recommend the Intelligence Skin Line from Arbonne. It was formulated for exactly what you are going through and produces results. As part of the line their is a Thermal Fusion Mask that will go deep into your skin and clean out all of that bacteria, and the coolest part is that is has these great papaya enzymes that you activate with water and once activated they start desolving the dead skin cells ( just like pac man). another important thing about the masque is that you will feel like you are having a reaction but it is just the papayas. your skin will look amazing. If you want a chemical peel you can use this mask daily for 10 days and you have it. These products are great! you can check them out at www.thewayback.myarbonne.com Once you are there go to shop online and look under Not so basic for face. If you are not thrilled they will give you a full refund!
Reply:I've had the same problem forever. Many people do. After trying just about everything, I give myself a facial (following hot steam) and squeeze the suckers out. Then I apply ice cold water to shrink the pores and use a mild astringent such as WitchHazel. A noncomedogenic moisturizer and that's it. I've also started a green drink on a daily basis which I think has helped the most. Too much washing will dry out your skin and do more harm than good in my opinion. My large pores will never completely go away, that's not my skin type, but they have become less noticeable.
Reply:My Dermatologists advice is this; wash with lukewarm water and dove soap. Rinse with cold to close the pores. And a couple times a week exfoliate. I use the apricot scrub for sensitive skin while I'm in the shower three times a week which keeps my oily skin nice and smooth and I use a moisturizing cream every day. You don't need any more than that.
