Have a 2 year Katy Apricot Tree,as yet has not blossemed, nor has Born fruit WHY????

    Katy Apricot Tree???
Plants have to mature sexually just like animals. Your tree is too young. These trees will usually begin blooming around 5-6 years old. If it was blooming when you bought it, it was artificially induced so you could see the blooms before you bought it.

Has anyone used apricot kernels/vit b17/laetrlie in fight against cancer, any results?

There is no documented scientific evidence that this product has ever been of benefit to cancer patients. There is almost a religous type following of the product however so you will surely get people who have never had cancer try to convince you. But, any studies that have been done indicate that it doesn't do any good at all and tumors will progress. So, if the arsenic in the product doesn't poison you, than the untreated cancer will.

There is no such thing, by the way, as 'vit b17' . . its just a friendly name for arsenic . . those who promote this product needed to call it something other than a deadly poison so the vitamin was invented.

Has anyone used apricot kernels/vit b17/laetrlie in fight against cancer, any results?
Of course I meant cyanide and not arsenic. Doesn't change my opinion of this being ranked as a quack med. And, for anyone who doesn't know . . my teenage son has a rare advanced cancer. We have investigated hundreds of treatments. This one doesn't pan out. Report It
Reply:Wake up! The world is run by Drug and Sugar companies, just do research to see who is affiliated with QUACKWATCH or even look at the vested interest within the governments and Cancer Charities. For your sons sake just look thoughly at Metabolic Therapy then make an informed decision Report It
Reply:Ignorance. First of all, Quackwatch, to people willing and capable of doing their own research, is the quackery of information. If you look to Quackwatch for your education, there may be no hope for any of you. What a biased load of gullible rubbish.

Apricot kernels do not contain arsenic - they do, however, contain a component of cyanide. Not free cyanide; the sort found in dark glass bottles with a skull %26amp; crossbones, but a bound molecule containing cyanide. No, B17 hasn't been recognised by the mainstream as a vitamin, but it was coined as such as it was determined a dietary element necessary to the body. The failure to recognise this is the issue here.

Amygdalin (B17) has been proven time and again to be effective against cancer. If none of you believe in the pharmaceutical agenda to bury alternative medicine, you've got your heads in the sand. Do you honestly believe, after decade upon decade of failed amygdalin use, the overwhelming data would cast a favourable light on this alternative therapy? Would it really have an almost "religious" following if it truly was ineffective? Why? Forget about the clinical studies designed to fail. Anecdotal evidence is far superior to clinical trials. I'd take the authentic accounts of thousands of individuals over the results of a handful of lab rats any day.

Apricot kernels are not a cure for cancer, but this is not to say that they aren't a crucial component to a metabolic approach to overcoming cancer. Their scientifically acknowledged role in battling cancer lies in their selective ability to slow and halt the growth and spread of cancer cells. If one were to consume apricot kernels alone, they'd be unlikely to succeed. About as unlikely as if they were to undergo conventional therapy. However, through dietary adjustments and the addition of a number of other important supplements, metabolic therapies are the most effective approach to overcoming cancer that exists. Not on one's last legs, but before destroying the immune system with conventional treatment.

If any of you or your family are ever diagnosed with cancer - I dearly hope you'll reconsider your position on alternative treatments. Of course - don't be a fool about it. Look for overwhelming anecdotal evidence. This is where you'll find the truth. If the overwhelming evidence suggests quackery, by all means, keep searching. But this is not the case with amygdalin (vitamin B17, apricot kernels, laetrile). Do some research and consider the agendas of your sources.
Reply:I'm sure there are people out there who have tried this.

Is there any evidence it works? NO

Would I try it personally? NO ...... unless something changes in the future and I decide it would be fun to try play Russian Roulette and investigate safe arsenic doses from a personal level.
Reply:I was going to answer this question, but now I don't need to - Panda's excellent answer has left nothing out. I share your enthusiasm for Quackwatch Panda, it's a very useful site.

Wherever there is cancer there is a ruthless person ready to take money for an unproven - and in this case dangerous - 'cure'. Remember that you have no way of knowing if someone claiming a miraculous 'cure' ever had cancer in the first place, and treat anecdotal evidence with great caution.

EDIT: Kumala, you say you wouldn't use apricot kernels as an alternative to conventional treatment. Please don't use them at all - as well as being ineffective against cancer, they are dangerous.
Reply:I am sorry to say it is quite useless.

(Thanks a lot to Panda and lo_mcg for introducing me to Quackwatch, which I had not heard of before. There are many quack 'remedies ' I have not come across before. My trick is to take an incurable condition, put the word cure after it and enter it into google. It is frightening to see how many millions of sites (literally) feed on the misery of others, little seems to have changed in 100 years of quackery. )

Doctors are far from perfect, and some of them have acted in some very dubious ways over the years, but give me conventional therapy every time.
Reply:I believe that there was one case that claimed success with this treatment. And as to whether it was scientifically monitored and fully documented is doubtful. Consider the many thousands of people that are treated and saved using proven medicine and treatment, I guess you need to ask yourself are you "feeling lucky" to take B17 arsenic on the chance tat it will cure and that you may be the second successful case?

Sorry to say there are all too many claims floating around of such miraculous undocumented or scientifically verifiable treatments, which prey on those in need the most!

And just for the record there is no such vitamin as B17! Just call it by what it really is "Arsenic".

How to use apricot FACIAL SCRUB...?

    Can i use it regularly.....thanx

How to use apricot FACIAL SCRUB...?
Exfoliating also has its side effects-too much and harsh use can really really spoil your skin. If you want to do it on a daily basis, use a mild one like St.Ives after cleaning your skin.

The frequency of using a scrub depends on age and type of skin-teenage and oily with lotsa pimples can use once or twice a week-dry or aging skin- mild one everyday.

Apricot is very good for skin and is used in skin polishes. But always remember to clean your face first, exfolite and then moisturise.

Best done before sleep as it helps skin to breathe and the skin repair process is max during sleep.

Do this and you will have beautiful skin-alwayz.
Reply:you can use it daily, i would say only once, and i suggest using it in the shower because the little beads are used in the scrub are hard wash out with the sink. Just close your eyes tight and scrub really really hard and wash with steaming warm water.
Reply:I wouldnt suggest everyday usage of it since its a scrub and that would be too harsh for the delicate skin of your face.

scrubs are great because they slough away dead skin cells which cause your skin to look dull and give you an uneven skin texture. I use st. ives apricot scrub blackhead and blemish to get even more out of it, its a scrub and its also got 2% salicylic acid which is one of the main things that dermatologists suggest to clear/prevent acne blemishes!

i know that the st ives scrubs are too coarse to use daily because the apricot shells arent ground up very fine.. so id use it every 2-3 days. They have like 6 different apricot scrubs in their line including a sensitive skin formula!

    hope this helped!
Reply:i use it everyday to clean my face after i take my make up off.

i have st. ives, so its gentle enough for my face, and it scrubs the dead skin off gently. it also gets rid of any excess oils left from my make up and the baby oil i use to take it off.

i just wet my face, put a small amount in my hand, and use the other hand to apply it to my face. i scrub with my fingertips in circular motions. then rinse and make sure you moisturize your face when you get done if you have dry skin.

but you have to make sure it works for you and your skin. everyone has dif skin types, so what i do may not work for you.

    good luck :)
Reply:I use it every other day. Exfoliating too often can be too abrasive for your skin. I swear by that St. Ives stuff. It's cheap and it works. Just work it in circular motions and don't scrub it on your skin.
Reply:i would use the scrub like every other day

i would use the apricot cleanser every day that you are not using the scrub.

becuase the scrub has the potential of drying or redness.

also, just use it like you would use any face wash.

    good luck
    Reply:Every 2-3 days.
Reply:Apricot scrub will exfoliate your skin to remove build up and open clogged pours.
Reply:I say use it every other day or twice a week. In my experience, it's always dried out my face (especially my T zone) if I use it every day. But it all depends on your skin type. Just make sure to use moisturizer on your face afterwards. :)

Ice chest with frozen Co2( often used to ship meats through the mail) direct contact is needed...bottom line, freeze em hard and fast, then fish them out and put em in the freezer.

    ~~~Is St. Ives Gentle Apricot Scub any good?~~~?
    I have acnified, oily skin...is St. Ives any good??? Should I use the gentle apricot scrub, or what? What do you recommend?
    ~~~Is St. Ives Gentle Apricot Scub any good?~~~?
I'd used the regular st. ives scrub many years ago, and it was way too harsh for my sensitive skin. I use cetaphil facial cleanser as my main facial wash and for a scrub, one can just mix some baking soda with the cetaphil and use that 1-2 times a week (any more may be too harsh for one's skin). I got the baking soda/cetaphil tip from author Paula Begoun in her book 'Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me'.
Reply:I've used it before, but it doesn't improve my skin condition. And the beads are a little too rough for my liking, so I switch to The Body Shop's Seaweed Pore-Cleansing Facial Exfoliator, which is gentler.
Reply:I love it too. I use the Acne-Prone formula and it works really well. About the only thing I sometimes have trouble with is when I use it and really scrub, then rinse my face in hot water, sometimes my face gets red. But if you use lukewarm water, you ought to be okay. I remember my great grandma used to use it, no joke... haha. It's great stuff though, and it's dirt cheap.
Reply:Yes, Oh Yes! This product is consistently voted as one of the best celebrity beauty secrets! I've used it for years and even though I buy a variety of more expensive beauty products, I've discovered that there's no reason whatsoever to buy expensive scrubs!! As long as they keep making it, I'll buy St. Ives Apricot Scrub!

BTW, since you have acne prone skin, you'll definitely want to go with the Gentle formula! Good Luck!
Reply:I use the same thing but only 2-3 times a week. I love it! I have really oily skin and black heads and it really helps control my problems. Remember not to over use it or you can do more damage than good. Good luck!
Reply:I used that stuff when I was young, and I loved it....It's made out of ground apricot pits, I think. The didn't have a gentle formula when I used to use it, but since they do offer a gentle product now, I think I'd try that first! Good luck!
Reply:I have used both regular scrub from st. ives and the one for senstive skin and my skin is sensitive/combination. The regular never bothered my skin though. For you I believe they actually have one for acne prone skin. St. Ives face scrubs are good and also inexpensive. They are the only face scrubs I use and I would recommend them. The one I am using now says it is gentle enough for everyday use.(the one for sensitive skin)
Reply:1] use the formula for your skin type. If you have oily, use that, sensitive, use that.

2] use it every day for two weeks. Initially you will have more zits because the deeper ones will surface, but then the new clear skin will show up.

3] buy face wash, toner, sunscreen, and moisturizer for your skin type. Use wash, toner, sunscreen in AM, and wash, toner, moisturizer in PM.

4] use Aapri or St Ives apricot scrub to exfoliate twice a week.

5] avoid fried, fast, or junk food - even diet junk food.

6] drink 1/2 gallon of water a day.

7] take a quality multivitamin with minerals every day.

8] keep hands and hair off face.

    9] use non-comdogenic makeup [ on package label ].
Reply:I have been using this product for about eight years now and I love it. For skin with acne, try the one for oily skin first. I use the invigorating now, because my acne isn't so bad anymore. Its wonderful because no matter how dry your skin is, it moisturizes and cleans away dead skin.

    :) Love it.

Growing apricots and plums in Santa Monica, CA?

    Hello

Could you tell me which variety of apricot and plum trees will grow (and produce fruits) in Santa Monica, California, Zip:90405. Many thanks for your help!

Growing apricots and plums in Santa Monica, CA?
Santa Monica is zone 10. Looking it up in a reference book, a Japanese plum will grow in zone 10. European plums go thru zone 9, so if you are a couple miles out from the ocean, toward culver city, and you put it in the least sheltered location you have (NOT under the eaves of the house, NOT on the south side of the house) maybe it will bear fruit, in my opinion (looking for a colder microclimate here). Low lying land would be colder (cold air runs downhill). Apricots will not grow in zone 10, and do best in as warm as zone 8. Oh, wait, In the Sunset Western Garden Book (I thought this book was SUPER when I lived out there) it says Floragold will grow even in the coastal part of Santa Monica. There are several varietie will grow a couple miles inland - Aprigold, Autumn Royal, Early Gold, Golden Amber, King (needs pollinator) Newcastle, Redsweet (needs pollinator) Royal/Blenheim, Royalty, Snowball, and the Floragold is a semidwarf, a good thing where you are! I remember learning at a landscape arboretum in LA that for lilacs you can withhold water to simulate winter. Maybe for plums you can do that, to simulate the chilling requirement. For tricks like this, you need to contact a nursery or better, arboretum. Since your climate is so unique, I'd hit a local nursery if I were you, and skip Home Depot who sells out of zone plants all the time. Seed catalogs lie sometimes too, like they will say something is hardy in zone 3, but in reality the flowers get nipped off by frost and you never get any fruit, and you have an ugly scraggly tree.

(I moved to MN zone 3, so now I am at the OTHER range, trying to find plants that are hardy enough!)

Good luck! It is so nice to grow your own stuff. I have like 12 apple trees and some cherries and grapes and all that now that I'm rural. It's very rewarding!
Reply:Apricots need lots of heat and some cold. Katy apricot is a good all purpose apricot that requires much less cold, usually 300 hours chilling requirement ( below 45 degrees during the time the tree is dormant. Flora Gold is is another remarkable apricot that preforms better where other apricots don't. Royal ( Blemhein) Apricot is what many people , it is the kind more close to what you buy in the market but however where you live it does not get cold nor warm enough for this variety to produce consistantly. iIf you were to have an apricot then use katy or Flora Gold.

A plum on the other hand such as the luther Burbank introduction and self fruitful variety known as Santa Rosa will do much bettter than an apricot.

Is it o.k if i use the regular st. ives apricot scrub instead of using the one made for acne prone skin?

    I have mild acne...

    thnx!

Is it o.k if i use the regular st. ives apricot scrub instead of using the one made for acne prone skin?
Yes.....you can use the regular. However, if its available, try the medicated or scrub for sensitive skin. Its less abrasive and helps clear up acne

    St Ives Apricot Scrub?

I recently bought a scrub called St Ives Apricot Scrub. What does it do for my skin. And how do I actually use it? It says "moisten" the skin, what does the comply? Do I use it daily? or weekly?

Does it remove ance, and blackheads?

I'm sorry for all these questions, but I'm just want to know before I put something on my face.

    St Ives Apricot Scrub?
I use it too! It works really well, and I love it.

I just put water on my face (splash running water on it) and then get a small amount of the scrub and gently apply it in circular motions on my face for about 1 minute. Then you rinse it off.

It helps acne and blackheads, but you have to make sure you are doing other things to prevent acne. No one thing can make acne go away, but the scrub sure helps.

I'd use it 2 to 3 times weekly depending on if your skin is sensitive or not.

I'm acne free, so it obviously isn't making things worse!
Reply:what kind of st. Ives apricot scub?? Is it the "Gentle" one or the invigorating one?? If you bought the gentle one.. u can use it everyday...coz its gentle enough for sensitive skin... Its moisten ur skin and rid off acne!!
Reply:I tried it and it made my face acttually break out.It was too harsh even for my skin. I never get pimples but I did with that stuff.I use microdelivery exfoliating cloths that come from Philosophy and the wash that comes with it.

My skin is older than yours I'm pretty sure and it could probably take a light exfoliating every day, but most people can't.

With this one it helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Deep clean pores, you can remove your make-up with it.It makes my skin glow and this one actually reduces the size of pores which was exactly what I was looking for in a product like this. This is gentle enough for everyday usage. Most scrubs get rid of old skin and promotes growth of new skin cells. So I hope you have better luck with it than I did. I love my Philosophy, because it is gentle. If you need some help send me an E-Good Luck girl.

That one probably is just like all the rest when you start out make sure your skin is damp and rub in -clock wise motions on right side and the other counter side opposite directions on the left side-be careful and don't rub to hard. You most likely can't use it but once a week-everyones skin tolerates things different. Mine is tough enough for every day-I'm guessing yours is not.Be careful not to irritate it, and if you see the slightest stop using it.
    Reply:smells sooo good!

Are black velvet apricots good for you?

I am trying to eat better so I got a bunch of fruits at the market today. The manager had me try this fruit, apparently a cross between a plum and an apricot, called a black velvet apricot and it was quite tasty. Just wanted to make sure they are a good fruit to eat if you are trying to lose weight. Thanks!

Are black velvet apricots good for you?
if you're trying to eat healthier, i would suggest keeping your fruit consumption to a minimum. they contain a lot of sugar. yes, it's natural sugar, but it's sugar nonetheless. eat more raw veggies %26amp; maybe fruit once a week. and if you eat fruit, eat blue berries, acai berries, apples, coconut, etc ... ones that are lower in sugar %26amp; carbs.
Reply:I tried looking for info to help but this was the closest thing i can find. I hope it helps.

  • Does the St.Ives Apricot Scrub burn anyone else's face?

I used it like once and it kinda burns like hell...so did it burn for you?

Does the St.Ives Apricot Scrub burn anyone else's face?
It burns a lot of faces. I get visitors to my site all the time from search phrases like, "salicylic acid chemical burn", "facial chemical burn relief", "acne product facial burn". Every day, every single day. So I have a mask for burn relief on every page of my site.

Yes, salicylic acid is an acid that causes burns. It's that simple. You probably have more sensitive nerve endings than some people.

If you want a mask to relieve the burn, just click my picture and there is an oatmeal and honey mask that will help reduce the redness and pain from the chemical burn.

    ADDED:

After reading other posts you might want to know that products that contain salicylic acid do *cause* break-outs.

Effects of Salicylates on organ systems, "Mild chronic salicylate intoxication (salicylism) causes skin eruptions."

    http://web.indstate.edu/mary/N645/mod11....

You might want to avoid everything that contains salicylic acid.
Reply:nope. i have oily skin so it works for me.

maybe you are applying to much OR you are rubbing to hard.

you have to gently scrub your face.

but if it does burn, dont use it cause you are just irritating your skin.

Reply:Heck no, I use it all the time and it never burns my skin. Maybe you just have sensitive skin?

Why are there worms in the apricots on my tree?

Last year there were worms inside the apricots on our tree. The apricots are beginning to show now. Is it too late to save the fruit from the worms this season?

Why are there worms in the apricots on my tree?
Your problem is that you're not spraying. Go to a garden center for help. They will tell you what to spray, and when. Be prepared. You will be spraying every 2 weeks until harvest. It may already be too late, but check.
Reply:No is not to late what you could do is go and look for a fertilazer that it doesn't harm the tree if you dont find a fertilizer go and ask a gardener or some one that knows about plants or go near a store were they have plants.

    I've just eaten an apricot....?

and now have this huge pit...if I plant this bad boy in the ground, will I get an apricot tree?

    I've just eaten an apricot....?
well first you have to dry it out , my father kept them in a bag and layed them in the sun... after it dries plant it then water it get garden soil and mulch in the hole before you plant it...then put the mulch then after it comes out of the ground put mulch around the plant. pull the apracots off when they are fresh it is good for the tree so more fruit will grow...enjoy! PS it also depends on where you live too if its cold it wont grow... you dont want it to be too hot either...)
Reply:Probably not. What you can do is get a bunch of them, crack the shells to get to the "nut" inside. Put the nuts on a baking sheet with some butter and salt, roast them and eat them! Very tasty!
Reply:You know it just might work!
Reply:You could try it, but probably not.

Most apricots and other fruits are grown from hybridized varieties that are transplanted onto rootstock.

It may germinate, but end up nothing like the apricot that you ate.
Reply:depends where you live. if you live in a cold place with infertile soil then no. but if you live somewhere warm with plush soil. you'll be eating apricots in a few years. i planted an avocado seed 6 months ago. not very large though
Reply:sure , but it will take years before you even see any thing.

Visibly even by Neutrogena and Apricot scrub by St.Ives?

I just bought visibly even moisturizer by Neurogena, and an apricot scrub by St.Ives. Has anyone seen results with these? I have pale-ish skin with some red blochy areas on my cheeks... and I am hoping the moisturizer will help...

    Thanks!

Visibly even by Neutrogena and Apricot scrub by St.Ives?
St.Ives Apricot Scrub is possibly the worst thing for your skin. The abrasive walnut shells in it have jagged edges which can actually leave miscroscopic tears in your skin. When I tried this scub, it severely irritated my skin and caused me to break out, which I am still recovering from. Try something with synthetic exfoliators, such as micro-beads. It's much better for your skin.
Reply:The apricot scrub is really good but don't use it at this moment because it will just irritate your skin even more, your cheeks are gonna hurt really bad. Instead, I know it's gonna sound weird but put vicks vapor rub on your cheeks it's going to help your cheeks, think of it like when you use vaseline on your chapped lips.
Reply:Oh no! Don't use that St. Ives stuff on your face! It is too harsh for us pale skin types! (It is great to use when you shave your bikini line though as it keeps away razor burn!) Anyway, the St. Ives will irritate your skin and make it even more red. Find another exfoliant that won't rub your skin raw.
Reply:If you look closely at the st ives scrub, it has little brown chips of bark or splinter like brown pieces in it. That will tear your face up. If you want to exfoliate, get the scrubs with the little beads, so it's softer on you face but still does the job.
Reply:I've been told by many that the Apricot scrub cuts up the skin (you wouldn't be able to see it) because the crystals are too large, so it isn't very good to use. I've personally used the Apricot Scrub and it made my skin smooth, but I still had dry spots on my face.

Try using an aspirin mask for a scrub instead. Take a few uncoated aspirins in a small bowl, add a little water, smash up the aspirin (or you can smash them up THEN put water it) until it creates a paste. Then you can either put it all over your face and leave it on for a few minutes to use as a mask, or for a scrub just scrub your whole face in a circular motion.
Reply:Your probably have Rosacea hun....scrubs are going to make it worse. MOst creams will make it worse too.

Are you european or asian decent?

Does your skin get really red when your hot, drink alcs... and stay like that for a while?
Reply:if you have sensitive skin then dont use the apricot scrub it'll just irritate it, use a chemical exfoliant instead ( toners). Moisturizer is a must!
Reply:the acne prone skin apricot scrub did wonders for me.... there's my 2 cents
Reply:I have sensitive pinkish skin and I use St.Ives every other day.It works amazing on me.
Reply:I saw great results with St. Ives. Made my skin feel smooth and clean! Didn't really help with acne, though.

  • Can I use St. Ives apricot scrub everyday?

i have alot of black heads. So I use st. Ives apricot scrub blackhead blemish control. I was wondering should i could use it daily?

I'm going to get a facial soon should i use the scrub after the facial?

Can I use St. Ives apricot scrub everyday?
Yes you can use it everyday but it might make your skin greasy. Why not buy two a harsher one (invigorating) and a softer one (gentle/sensitive) That way your skins still getting a good clean but withour being too harsh.

Why not invest in a clenser and a toner for the blackheads?

Use the cleanser and toner in the morning and the apricot in the evening so it can settle overnight. Scrubbing your skin in the morning takes away your skins natural defence (licorine) and can cause blotchiness if its exposed to harsh conditions during the day.
Reply:don't use facial scrub daily since it would rid off your skin's natural moisture.use it once a week.when you had your facial ask the dermatologist if you could still use it.maybe you would be recommended to use certain products they think would suit your skin conditioned.
Reply:ive wondered the same thing! i think u can use it every day, but im not 100% positive. i think its better 4 ur skin to use it every other day. cuz if u use it too much it messes up ur skin. i personally wouldnt use it after a facial
Reply:i have there apricot scrub and i use it every day, not only on my face, but on my knees too. also once a week i use it all over my body for exfoliation! =)
    Reply:of course you can.

if your nose gets rashes, scratches, or extremely dry, you might want to limit the use to every other day.
Reply:IF your skin is oily, go ahead and exfoliate every day
Reply:not a good idea...even if you have oily skin, it doesn't make the problem go away, it just covers it. Be careful with your skin. For oily skin 3-4 times weekly, for normal and combination 2, for dry 1.

Is it ok for an 11 year old child to use an "st. Ives apricot cleanser:?

    Thanks

Is it ok for an 11 year old child to use an "st. Ives apricot cleanser:?
Yes its fine.. they even have gently foaming cleansers so you dont have to use the apricot scrub all the time.. they even have a formula for sensitive skin
Reply:Why would it not be okay?

I've been using that stuff since I started to get even the slightest bit of acne. And it also helped to wake me up in the morning.
Reply:Sure, if they want to, why not?
Reply:ya its totally okay as long as they dont rub too hard.
Reply:Its a well known brand and its actually good to start early .
Reply:ya but i would go with maybe a deeper and smoother one because i found that it made my skin really oily so if your skin is already, dont use it.
Reply:Because the cleanser contains walnut shells for exfoliating the skin, the product would be best used IF the child is already showing signs of acne. Otherwise, a more gentle cleanser would be best for the face until acne appears.
Reply:i don't see why it wouldnt be ok...
Reply:yes!if it didnt say anything on the back..

then yess the 11 year old can use it!
Reply:St Ives Apricot Scrub is much to rough for younger skins. Try to avoid overly rough scrubs because the uneven exfoliators (nutshells), scratch and tear at the skin. Try to find a synthetic scrub. Although this might sound strange because everybody seems to thing natural is best, it is not always the best. Man made chemicals are of then more balanced than natural ones. Man made scrubs also contain perfectly circular synthetic scrubbing balls that do not irritate the skin. Remember, when exfoliating, dont rub to hard, and only exfoliate once a week. Over exfoliating can lead to premature breakdown and thinning of the skin. Also avoid it if you have acne because the rough particles can irritate pimples and cause them to swell from irritation and over cleansing. This scrub also contains sodium laureth sulfate, a cheap, yet harsh cleanser, unfortunately used in many personal care items
Reply:No. Walnut shells are really rough on everyone's skin. It's not really good for the face. There are better exfoliating products out there. Look for ones with bead-shaped scrub particles, not jagged shell pieces.
    Reply:use it for what?

St. Ives apricot scrub blackhead and blemish control?

i bought the scrub for my oily skin about 2 days ago, but already, it's making my oily skin turn into VERY oily skin. when i wake up, my face is like grease. what do i do?

St. Ives apricot scrub blackhead and blemish control?
Yeh my friend was using that for a few weeks and ended up breaking out in severe acne because of it. I'd say you should stop using it. If you have oily skin/acne its best to use a medicated antibacterial face wash from the chemist, they work much better and are surprisingly a lot cheaper. Best of luck.
Reply:It's obviously not working for you. I use it but it doesnt seem to make much of a difference. Definately try a new product!
Reply:i bought that it dosnt work i dont like it cuz of the little beads inside make my skin turn red when i rub it on my face i would throw that stuff out if i were u
Reply:The ironic thing is that the more you try to "dry" out oily skin, the more it will overproduce oil...

If you wish to get rid of blackheads, try those Biore patches. They sometimes hurt quite a lot but they are super effective.
Reply:you MUSTT look for oil-free products on an OILY SKIN line! i think dove or olay has a line just for oily skin washes, and they DRY OUT your skin like crazy, so hoepfully it'll dull out some of your grease. avoid creamy cleansers; use scrubs with bigger microbeads or MORE microbeads because those really scrub the grease out!! neutrogena is a typically more "dry" line, known for drying skin out in its acne washes, so i think it'll do well for your skin!
Reply:Oh wow, I have been using that product for years.

My skin is really smoothe no pimples. Its not oily at all unless I have P.E. or its a really hot day/sweating.

Well...if the product is making you feel like that then get anotehr one like Clean and Clear
Reply:you don'y need to buy any kind of exfoliater. just mix honey and sugar together. its perfect.
Reply:Stop using it!! It seems like it is not working for you. These products may work for some people but may not work for someone else. I usually like using an astringent followed by a toner. Write the company and they may send you your money back or if you bought it from a cvs or another drug store you can actually take it back and they should give you your money back even if you used some because they can send it back to the manufacture.

Does st. ives apricot scrub (blemish & blackhead control) work better than other acne meds in your opinion?

a lot of other acne fighting products make me break out. i want a good product that works really well. i have heard it works very well but i want to be sure. what do you think of st ives apricot scrub?

Does st. ives apricot scrub (blemish %26amp; blackhead control) work better than other acne meds in your opinion?
i dont know the product but 1st of all having "acne" as you say, you shouldnt be experimenting with different products or acneproduct treat your skin for oilyness, once it starts feeling dryer in 2 or 3 weeks treat it for dryness, oilyness is the main cause of acne, your pores are to big and is secreting to much waste therefore when you sweat, it just goes back into the pores, make sure you are cleansing toning and moisturising no more than 2wice a day otherwise you will strip your skin of even more acids. remember dont ever use a bar of soap on your body or your face, it is a bar therefore it is very concentrated with chemicals and it strips your acid mantle (acid mantle protects you from skin cancer and acne etc) - stay away and gud luck
    Reply:yes tons better

Reply:yes, it works great and I swear by it! i use it every 3 days or so, that's when i can tell the blackheads are out of my skin...i use the stuff in the orange tube, not the gentle scrub. then i use biore face wash and i use clinique emergency mud mask on pesky pimples. i always get compliments on my beautiful skin!
Reply:Not really for me, just the pills from my dr really works...
Reply:Yea the St Ives brand apricot scrub also has a medicated one (in a white tube), that actually works better than the original scrub, and also better than prescription scrubs, because it is natural and less harsh, and wont dry out your skin. But i don't know if you want to exfoliate daily. I would use a foaming face wash every day and a scrub only every other day or about 3 days a week.
Reply:I've tried it and it didn't help. What works best for me is the nuetrogena stuff.

    Apricot poodle turn white?

I have an apricot poodle and im scared he is going to turn white. I bought him because his color is similar to the poodle I recently lost. I don't want him to turn white because white is not my preference. I've only had him for two days but he already knows me and I like him a lot. But will he turn white? My toy poodle of 15 was apricot and never turned white but I dont know what color his parents were. But since my new poodle mom is white, he will probably turn white right? Tell me what you think. Thanks!

    Apricot poodle turn white?
It is important to realize with all standard poodles, (and I believe all poodles for that matter )that color will often change. Some breeders may not inform people of this fact. There are reputable Breeders working hard at eliminating what is sometimes called, "the fading gene." Understanding this truth about color will help prepare you when you pick your puppy based on a particular color. The color of the pup you take home at eight weeks may fade or even perhaps darken (not usually) over time.

No breeder can or should guarantee color unless they are breeding true blacks to true blacks and whites to whites. It is impossible to make any sure guarantees with the other colors. Many people are misled or misinformed and then disheartened as they see the color of their puppy change.
Reply:Oh sheesh, come on,why in the world would color matter if you love the dog?
Reply:is the color of the coat go all the way to the skin. if not then it will turn a cream color. i just depends on the back ground of the parents color.
Reply:Flo! Congratulations!!! I am so glad that you found your puppy..I raised poodles for many years..mostly apricot and white ones. The ones that were apricot by the time they were weaned, stayed apricot. Your puppy may yet lighten a bit, or darken a bit..but the apricot will stay there..Most of the apricots tended to darken with maturity, rather than lighten.

My male was a white dog, as were most of the females. However, they all had a lot of apricot in their lineage, and most litters had one apricot..

the upside to raising white poodles with strong apricot backgrounds, was the great pigment on the white ones. However, the downside, was that we had several that would develop an apricot saddle or darker ears as they matured..this would just keep getting darker..
Reply:I have an Apricot Labradoodle (half Lab half Poodle). When his hair gets long, the apricot disappears. I do not have the time to comb him as regularly as I would like. He gets regular cuts and baths. This brings back the Apricot. When your dogs hair gets long, look below the coat if the Apricot is not apparent.

I do not believe the color of a dog changes, unless it is a female and has the ability to dye her hair.

Regardless, The dog should be loved for the dog itself. If it turns purple, you should love it and treat it as a friend and companion.

There is nothing like the company of a good dog.

Will the St. Ives apricot scrub work for pimples/scars?
if you have scars from acne, the only way to make them lighter is to keep exfoliating your skin. so i think this would be a good prduct...or anything with benzoyl peroxide in it will do the trick
Reply:Yes. I use St. Ives Apricot scrub every day before I shave. I noticed that I've had far less pinples since I've started using it. For Scaring you may want to use an aloe vera gel or lotion to reduce the scaring.

I know sound like a commercial, but it's the best stuff I've used.

Should i use this facial wash?for acne and stuff like that please tell me about it if u have used it or using it now thank you!

    peace out!

About St.Ives Apricot cleanser ?is it good for the face?
I use the facial cleanser every day and the apricot scrub 2-3 times a week. Don't scrub the scrub (unless using on feet, then go to town!), just lightly smooth it over skin and wash away. Scrubbing too hard will cause redness and dryness. I also use the scrub over my entire body once a week to keep my skin smooth without having a billion different bottles of product in my shower.

My mom has always used it too. It's less expensive at adollar store.
Reply:i have been using the st ives apricot cleanser blemish control for a while and i use it after i use a makeup remover for my face and i think it works great....it makes my skin feel very smooth and clean and doesn't dry my face out, its definitely gentle enough to use everyday....i recommend it!
Reply:I have been using it religiously (the one with the blue top) for years and it is great. But it must be because Switzerland does take such pride in the quality of their products.
Reply:I have been in the skin care industry for over 13 years and highly recommend staying away from St. Ives, especially if you have acne. Most over the counter scrubs use the shells all ground up as the abrasive particles. These particles are to abrasive for acne (most skin actually), and can can cause the bacteria within your acne lesions to spread and make the problem worse. It is important to find a product line that balances your skins natural oil production without being to harsh and drying. Aveeno has a good line that is affordable and they do have a scrub that is made with polybeads. They say you can use it daily, but with acne I wouldn't use it more than 2 times a week.
Reply:I use it to wash my face and head, I shave my head, and I think it works great to remove dead skin and help reduce shine. I think its a good product.
Reply:I used their apricot scrub and it was great, really great results! altho if u have acne i wudnt recommend the scrub, but the cleansing facial wash should do the trick!
Reply:I use the scrub maybe once a week on my face, cuz I have sensitive skin, but it is really good.
Reply:only use it once a week...its harsh if used to much...
Reply:I think it's a bit too abrasive for acne. The apricot seeds will be like glass rubbing against your skin. Please see a dermatologist if you can to get recommendations for skin care. I recommend Dermalogica products. It's hard to find and pricey, but works.

I've had acne for years and used all sorts of stuff (including this apricot scrub) and ended up destroying my skin. I still have acne scars and I'm now in my 30's. I regret not seeing a dermatologist sooner. My skin has been in great shape for the past years since I started using Dermalogica.
Reply:I use it and love it! If it seems to dry your face out too much only use 1-2 times a week. I use once a week and rub on face really well and let sit for about 5 min or so to soak up oils. Then rinse. Skin feels great for days.

Why is it that eating apricots helps my reflux?

and gerd and heartburn? What's in them that helps? I just buy the store brand canned apricot halves in light syrup. Found this out by accident but it works.

Why is it that eating apricots helps my reflux?
It is the high sugar, it lowers the pH of the acid and creates a different acid, however be warned that you are still alowing damage by doing this it should only be used as a temporary fix. Here is some helpful tips to aid in reliefing the pain.

I am not a doctor, so either way you will want to talk to them, but this is what I have to say as a long time sufferer of Acid Reflux (G.E.R.D.)!

Three part answer information, what not to do, and what to do!

    INFORMATION!!!!!!

I have a very severe case of Acid Reflux (G.E.R.D.). I have had to go to the hospital for some of the heartburn that I have had because the pain can become overwhelming or your breathing can be effected. It can be caused by Smoking, Drinking Beverages with caffeine (My case), Drinking Beverages with Alcohol, or can be Hereditary

The good thing about G.E.R.D. is that it can be a temporary thing and can be cured. It is never a permit thing even if you end up with it for the rest of your life it has the ability to be cured.

G.E.R.D. is caused by too much acid being created in your stomach. This can lead to or cause ulcers, esophagus damage, heartburn and/or damage in the mouth.

    WHAT NOT TO DO!!!!!!!!

In most cases, stress is a factor to the reflux if you watch what you eat and reduce some of the stress it will help. If you watch what you eat for about a week you should find relief, if you do not then that is when you definitely what to listen to the doctor. Things to watch for are as follows:

    WHAT TO DO!!!!

The two foods that I recommend is Black strap Molasses and Raw honey. The apple is better for night time reflux while these will work for just about all of it. What you will do is take about a tsp. of whatever one you chose. Molasses being the better because of strength and nutrition, but must be use to the taste. What the substance will do is stick to the sides of the esophagus and do two things, one is heal and the other is protect.

On the healing end, both substances have a healing property in them, and as they sit on the walls of the esophagus they will heal it. This is also helpful if you have a sore throat in the morning from refluxing.

    My apricot tree?

i have a apricot tree and the squirrel always is in the tree taking them off and throwing them on the ground how do i stop the squirrel from coming

    My apricot tree?
Cover your tree with bird netting!! Tie it around the trunk. Then the squirrel cannot reach it from the ground or from a fence or another tree. (They can jump a long distance!).

    Good Luck!!
Reply:You might try painting your apricot trunk with a wash of 50% a cheap white latex paint and 50% water. (This also prevents sun scald on the bark, then wrap 36"chicken wire around the base. You might also use a sticky product around the trunk called Tanglefoot. Good luck!

if u have oily or dry skin then every day

if you have normal or sensitive skin then twice a week

I say 2-3 times a week, apricot scrub is for exfoliation and can be too harsh if used everyday.

You can get it in stores. Walmart, Target, Kmart, Fred Meyer. They all have it in the face skincare section. Good luck!

Can I substitute apricot facial scrub for?

the flavor packet that was SUPPOSSED to be in my Ramen noodles?

Can I substitute apricot facial scrub for?
I say yes. Not only will you have a tasty twist on the usual Ramen delight, but a textural sensation that may, indeed, knock your socks off.
Reply:Sure. The flavor packet is high in sodium anyways.
Reply:Ye aif you can find it or you could just take it out of another pack but then you would always be short on sauce packet of you would have to eat Noodles plain (Yuck)

What colour pups do you get when you breed a black pug with an apricot pug?

Some black ones and some apricot ones. I would imagine it is the same as other breeds with different colors for instance a Lab, if a yellow Lab is bred to a black Lab you will get some yellow and some black.

What colour pups do you get when you breed a black pug with an apricot pug?
all depends on how the dominate gene color works and what is carried in the two breeding dogs used.
Reply:You will get both solid black and your various shades of fawn (including apricot). If you are able to research a color marked pedigree it would tell you how many fawns and blacks are in the background of your pugs. I believe that the fawn gene in this case will probably more dominant.

No- only your face though can answer this - as we're all different.

You shouldn't use an exfoliant every day - especially on acne prone skin - once a week perhaps on a clean face ?

But your best bet is a step regime - wash, toner, and spot cream. If you do it daily (twice) you may decrease your acne -

I've used that and everytime I did I got more zits poping up. I think its all trial and error. I have a niece that swears by proactive but others don't.

What is the relationship (biologically) between apricots and almonds?

I always thought apricots and almonds were two totally different species.

But I recently learned that inside of every apricot, if you break open the pit, is a small almond. It looks like an almond, it tastes like an almond.

And I have heard that almond extract and essential oils are obtained from apricots.

What is the connection between apricots and almonds? Are they different species? How closely are they related? Why are there almonds inside apricots?

What is the relationship (biologically) between apricots and almonds?
They are in the same genus, Prunus. It's a very diverse genus which also contains:

    PLUMS - Prunus domestica

    DAMSONS - Prunus domestica var.

    SLOES - Prunus spinosa

CHERRIES - Prunus avium / Prunus cerasus

    PEACHES - Prunus persica

    NECTARINES - Prunus persica var.

Further, Prunus is in the family, Rosacea, which includes fruits as diverse as apples and strawberries!

Have you seen a fresh almond, straight from the tree? It is enclosed in a furry green fruit, a bit like a small green peach.
Reply:The relationship between the Apricot and the Almond is seed and feed. The Almond feeds off the meet of the fruit. It is the fruit of the tainted tree (sorta speak).
Reply:the apricots are not the same like almond. the inside of the seed of apricot is not edible, it is poisonous. as someone aelse already stated, both of the trees mentioned by you are members of the Prunus family.

btw the content of the seed is always the same, you will find the perfectlu same structure in the wallnut, peas, etc. it is the embryo or offspring of a new plant. there is a bunch of plants that have this in common they are called Rosopsida+Magnoliopsida

St Ives Blemish Control Apricot Cleanser?
It makes my skin feel really clean, and it doesn't irritate it. I haven't had any new breakouts recently, but it hasn't really been doing anything for the bit of acne I do have. But for all you know, it may work wonders on your skin. I don't think there's any harm in trying it.

Where can I buy Apricot Kernels AKA B-17 Vitamin or Laetrile in New York City?

(This is an after edit - I thought for some reason you were asking about a source in Australia. I'm in Australia on Yahoo Australia. Re-reading the question, I realise, of course, you're in the States. Do the same Google search for the US. Plenty of sources online that can deliver to you quickly in NYC.)

Don't allow the ignorance of these other answers discourage you. These people are no doubt educated by the quackwatch sites. Whilst it is true that amygdalin (vitamin B17) hasn't received official recognition as a vitamin, it was so coined a vitamin based on the theory that it is indeed a substance that, if deficient, results in the the body's inability to control the production of cancer cells.

It's the rejection of this theory that prevents the vitamin recognition. The big cancer hoax is that the conventional systems being used today have a positive effect on the lives of those with cancer. The fact of the matter is, it's those who opt out of conventional treatment who fair best. This is not a pie in the sky remark, but fact. And those who opt in for conventional treatment, but also employ complimentary alternatives, fair the best of those using orthodox "therapies".

There are hundreds of common food substances that contain amygdalin (B17), but apricot kernels, along with other seeds of the rosaceous family, such as those of peaches, plums and cherries, contain the highest concentrations.

There is absolutely no doubt that vitamin B17 is an effective component of a nutritional approach to the prevention and management of cancer. Thousands of people use it successfully and have done for decades. There's no hoax or con going on here. A person's level of committment to nutrition and well-being dictates the success rate. It's not enough to eat apricot kernels alone. They're merely an important component of a nutritional therapy. At the very least, vitamin B17 prevents cancer from metastisising (spreading) and the apricot kernels actually offer very effective, natural pain relief, due to their analgesic properties.

They can be purchased from different sources in Australia. Do a Google search limited to Australian results. Don't be tricked into spending too much money. There are those who are happy enough to take advantage of the desperate frames of mind of those purchasing. Do a little shop-around.

Where can I buy Apricot Kernels AKA B-17 Vitamin or Laetrile in New York City?
There is no such thing as Vitamin B-17. It is not in any biology text books. All other vitamins and minerals have more than one source. "Vitamin B-17" only comes from apricot pits? That's because it is a term made up to try to sound scientific.

As for the effectiveness of Laetrile/Vitamin B17 against cancer, there is none. It is probably the biggest cancer cure fraud/hoax out there right now.

When a apricot poodle gets older does it get lighter or darker?

It depends on whether it has the silvering gene or not. If it does it will start to get lighter as it reaches maturity. If not then it will stay pretty much they same colour until it begins to go grey with age. To get an idea of how your poodle will turn out have a look at its parents/grandparents. There is no DNA test for the silvering gene at present.

Does anyone know about bush apricots?

Are there actually apricot bushes? All I've found on the web are trees that grow 15ft high and call themselves bush apricots. I'm looking for something smaller, around 6ft in height or less and spreads out like a hedge.

Does anyone know about bush apricots?
Very few bushes will remain under 6 feet without pruning or control of some kind. (the very minature ground-hugging and low growing "bushes" aside)

Many folks might call a tree that stays 15' or under a bush.

Apricots are not big trees in the first place. Whether you call dwarf ones "dwarf trees" or "bushes" may be a matter of a technicality.

Most grocery stores sell dried apricots. You can probably find out the weight and whatnot by going to an online seed store like burpee.com or something.

    Does apricot scrub really work??.?

Does that st ives apricot scrub really work for acne and smoother face??? i really really want to try it but i need to know if it works or not because i have really bad acne

    Does apricot scrub really work??.?
It used to, but then they changed the formula. If you have really bad acne, I suggest using Clearasil Ultra. This stuff REALLY works and exfoliates better than anything I have ever tried. It is a little more expensive ($6-7), but it works way better. My teenage brother had really bad acne and blackheads and that was the only thing that worked for him, so I decided to try it. I know I sound like a commercial, but I am really that impressed with it.
Reply:yeah. it works really good to unclog your pores and it gets rid of dead skin cells and makes your face much softer and smoother. i would really recommend it.
Reply:if you have bad acne, id rather use other stuff, apricot scrub is good but if you need a scrub, there are scrubs made for acne skin.

I found benzol peroxide wash quite effective.
Reply:OMG!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!! it worked wonders for me cuz i have really stubborn pimples, and my skin is sorta rough. the first week i used it, half my pimples were gone and my skin felt like porcelain. TRY IT!!!
Reply:Yeah I like it and i use it but I don't have serious acne. So as you say you have pretty bad acne I would not think it would work for that. I think you should get a dermatologists opinion for acne. Take care :)
Reply:I tried it when I had acne %26amp; didn't like it. It irritated my skin.

I prefer Murad AHA/BHA exfoliating cleanser or Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Face Pads.
Reply:it works really great u should buy it
Reply:It will not work for really bad acne. If you have really bad acne, you need a prescription for some sulfur based cream. That's the only thing that'll work, so go see your dermatologist. Apricot scrub is nice and makes already healthy skin feel really nice, and even glow, because it will remove dead skin cells. But it is a cosmetic, not a medicine, and if you have bad acne, you need a medicinal cream. Good luck.
Reply:ya it works. i use it and it works pretty good. have you tried Pro Active
    Reply:worked for me
Reply:I was watching Oprah And The topic was skin care a dermatologist on that show said it was bad for you.Said it was too abrasive.
Reply:omg, yes it does. it'll leave your skin really fresh and so smooth. it exfoliates dead skin. its not really to clear acne (use pro-activ for that) but it helps keep your pores clean and prevents you from really getting zits.
Reply:Yeah it worked great for me.
Reply:I dont think it is very good for acne. It is a great cleaner if you dont have acne but it isnt medicated. (that I recall) a great one for acne is called Acne Free. It is just like Proactive but cheaper. It's still spendy but way cheaper than proactive. I have seen it at Wal-Mart and CostCo.
    Reply:Oh yes it does.

It will leave your skin smooth and fresh. It's great to exfoliate dead skin.

In terms of acne...it keeps the pores clean...that said...don't rub too hard.

Reply:Yes, but if you have really bad acne---the apricot may irritate it.

Scrubs are good---but too much scrubbing can bring MORE OIL to the surface and make the acne worse.

Try a dermatologist if you can afford it. OR Keep to a simple routine and stick to it. Don't ever wear make-up to bed. Change your pillow case often. Don't touch your face with hands and fingers----The sun can be you friend if you are sensible about it. Don't put anything too OILY or greasy on your face.

Look for oil-free and sensitive things, like moisturizers, etc. If you are really young---seek advice from someone in family. Some foods DO trigger break-outs.....Like shell-foods, peanuts----

Keep it simple. Keep it up! Keep it clean.

    Good Luck!
Reply:I don't know if it works for acne, but It always makes my face feel fresh and very smooth. I love it, but you have to be careful not to use it everyday because it can dry out your skin. Use it every other day or every two days.
Reply:i use it and like it. it takes all the dead skin on my face away, leaving it smooth, without over drying it. try it!
Reply:I'm an exfoliator addict, and St Ives is a nice scrub, very invigorating.

BUT DO NOT USE if you have bad acne. The particles in the scrub are large and will aggravate your skin, causing redness and inflammation.

You need a very fine, gentle scrub like a gel scrub. Good luck!
Reply:I wouldn't use the normal skin one if you have bad acne that's easily irritated. I use it every day and my skin IS really soft and "Fresh" feeling, but my skin only has occasional breakouts and is generally quite clear.

They have one for sensitive skin, and one for acne prone skin which (I believe) has salicylic acid (which helps acne) in it. Try one of those, not the one for normal skin.

I looked at it on the computer, colors are probably not what they would be in real life. The Sky seems intense, and the forground less. Blue is a cool color, but the Barn roof Red is HOT. The painting makes me want to walk over to the Barn (maybe it is a cottage, not a barn).

For about a month, I tried St. Ives Apricot Scrub since a friend advice me to use it. I’m in no doubt agreed that it smells really good…. But I feel like it worsens my skin. I had pimples coming out more than I had before and it feels really itchy. But it is effective though in removing blackheads.. I just don’t advice people to use it on pimples.

    Apricot Filling?
Usually if you don't open it and it still has its original vaccuum seal, it will last for years and years. That's the whole point of "canning" fruits and vegetables, to make it last for several years later.

So it should be just fine if it's only a year old.

Where would you advertise a male toy apricot poodle for stud?

Depends, if his health testing was done, and he was registered legitimately, and was absolutely gorgeous, I would put up a webpage for him.. If he had nothing done, and wasn't even worth it..an embarassment to the breed.... I guess the newspaper. But to save myself that embarassment, I would neuter him... And enjoy him myself as a wonderful apricot companion..

Where would you advertise a male toy apricot poodle for stud?
you wouldn't have to advertise if your apricot poodle was of breeding quality... show your dog or neuter
Reply:humm the usual method is to take him out, do thing with him: show, obedience, agility- take your pick. Put happy boastful adds in the breed newsletter at every accomplisment.
Reply:After the dog has completed his AKC championship, (the showring is the proving ground for breeding quality), responsible breeders who have admired him and STUDIED HIS PEDIGREE, (the genetic history of a dog), will approach you to use him as stud on their females who have been similarly proven. You will never have to advertise.

Would Apricot scrub and naxzuma make acne worse?

If you are drying your skin out too much by using these products then yes it could lead to more acne. you should be using a moisturizer after you wash your face. Try an oil free moisturizer for oily and acne pron skin. Don't over wash your face you will wind up doing more damage than good

Would Apricot scrub and naxzuma make acne worse?
Yes, they both have skin irritating ingredients that will ultimately make your skin worse. You need a gentle cleanser and a BHA or benzoyl peroxide product to help with the acne, nothing with alcohol in it either. I live by the 2 sites below and don't buy new products without consulting them. I use her toner, BHA liquid, benzoyl peroxide treatment and moisturizing gel and have oily, blemish-prone skin and it has helped tremendously.

Both, actually. The first step will be to make apricot wine. I'm assuming that you don't have a lot of brewing experience, so I'll give you the quick overview. Wait until the apricots are very ripe(but make sure to discard any that have started to rot) Wash them then put them in a nylon stalking. This keeps all of the pits and pulp in one place. put the bag of fruit in a 5 gal bucked and kneed the bag until the fruit is all broken up. You don't need to over do it. Add a 5lb bag of sugar and fill the bucket up with water to within three or four inches of the top, then stir to dissolve the sugar. mix some brewers yeast with a cup of warm water than add it to the bucket. Put a loose fitting lid on the bucket and keep it in a warm place for about a week. After a week, the yeast will have turned all of the sugar into alcohol, so its ready to distill into brandy. If you taste it, it won't taste sweet. Distilling isn't exactly legal in the US, but you can still find a bunch of books that will walk you through how to build a still. Check with your local homebrew store. Hope you find this helpful.
Reply:If you are thinking about making apricot wine to drink and not to make brandy, let me know. There would be a few other things to consider to make sure that it turns out good. Report It
Reply:The reason people use vodka shortcuts is that distilling is illegal in England unless you have a licence. Customs and Excise would be very unhappy bunnies!

Also illegal is making wine (that's the fermenting bit which you are allowed to do), freezing it, then putting it in a centrifuge (juice extractor) to remove the ice thus making it stronger.

    Apricot trees?
You might find someone locally who knows. But you could ask your local master gardener to recommend someone who could graft scions from your old tree onto young root stock.
Reply:graft green limbs onto another apricot, any hardy species will take a graft. Use several to make sure you get a good graft.. Did you save the seeds? If your gm grew it, it probably is not a hybrid and is true to seed. . after you get a good graft, cut the tree down to very short , take all the old limbs away or burn them , treat the trunk and very short limb stubs with dormant oil, till the soil deeply and work in 100 lb of rich compost and a few dozen red wigglers (fishing worms). If you are in a dry area water it well once a week (about 20 gallons). if it doesnt show new growth in a year, just cut it on out.

Although, it is up to you...I'm sure no matter what color it is, the moment you see the right puggy wuggy, you'll know him/her is the perfect dog for you!

St. Ives Blemish and blackhead control scrub? (apricot)?

I dont have acne, but I am startieng to break out for the first time in months.(Been eating more junk food)

Will it work to keep my skin clear? I use the apricot cleanseer in the morn and i plan on using the scrub at night (i moisturize too)

St. Ives Blemish and blackhead control scrub? (apricot)?
It will work just as well as anything else. Keep your face clean and moisturize. A lot of people forget to moisturize thinking its going to make their face oily. It keeps your face from drying out - which can cause breakouts, too. Stay hydrated and unfortunately - a lot of it has to do with hormones!
Reply:Tried that, exactly that actually. Apricot cleanser in the morning, apricot scrub at night, moisturize afterwards. The only thing that did for my skin was make it drier than when I started. It did nothing for my acne. Of course, it didn't make me break out worse, but it didn't really do anything so it was just a waste of time and money.
Reply:It works pretty well but use it like you would a regular exfoliator, Its too harsh for your skin to be using everyday. Use it twice a week.

Try using the Apricot Deep Cleansing Cream wash for Blackheads and Blemishes twice a day. Its less harsh, so use it has your regular cleanser.

Reply:i used st ives apricot scrub for about 3 years...and after i started working for Prescriptives...i found out that its really not good for your pores.....the harsh edges around the beads cuts your pores making them bigger...i would suggest...either Prescriptives face scrub or clinique....something with round beads....it works just as good and is better for you.
Reply:no it won't, i've tried multiple products from St. Ives, %26amp; it didn't work for me. I suggest you use something from a makeup line (like.... Estee Lauder?) specifically targeted for ur skin type.

    Whole Apricot Kernels Or Crushed?

Whilst treating Cancer in my Dog successfully with the Correct food and Apricot Kernels, Why is it ok for Dogs to have the Kernels whole yet us humans need to have them chewed or crushed.

Note:- no Quackwatch followers/Sheep need answer.

    Whole Apricot Kernels Or Crushed?
You cannot have cured cancer in your dog with apricot kernels, it simply is not possible; if this was tried under the care of a veterinarian, his/her license should be revoked; if you diagnosed %26amp; tried to treat cancer in a dog yourself, you need to be barred from keeping animals.
Reply:An apricot kernel (Prunus armeniaca, "Armenian plum" in Latin) refers to the kernel of a species of Prunus, classified with the plum in the subgenus Prunus. It is commonly known for containing amygdalin, which is sometimes called "vitamin B17", but is not regarded by the scientific community as a vitamin since it does not meet the widely accepted scientific definition of a vitamin – it has not been proven to be essential to achieving or maintaining good health.[1] Amygdalin was once thought to help prevent cancer by attacking cancer cells, but clinical studies related to laetrile, as discussed in the amygdalin article, were unsuccessful. A review of the clinical evidence was published in 2006 with the conclusion "Therefore, the claim that laetrile has beneficial effects for cancer patients is not supported by sound clinical data."[2]
Reply:You can't treat cancer with anything other than meds. This is a mistaken diagnosis. My husband died a year ago from prostate cancer and while I managed to keep him alive for over 10 years with a healthy low fat, high fibre diet which gave him a low cholesterol, nothing cures it. Sorry, but you are talking a load of rubbish. If all it took to cure cancer was a few nuts, we'd all be eating them whole as I am pretty good at swallowing stuff and so are other people.
Reply:Apricot kernels wont cure cancer but they might help prevent it as well as Brazil nuts and fresh fruit and veg. Its all the antioxidants that are in fruit, veg and nuts that help and a healthy lifestyle that counts not a last minute cure.
