What are some uses (recipes) for unripe apricots? I have hundreds on my lawn that have fallen off due to wind.

I hate to let them go to waste! Please note I cannot can/jar anything; no time, ability or interest! Just simple recipes/suggestions is what I'm after.

You can make apricot cookies.....apricot preserves to pour over ice cream (does not require canning).....apricot smoothies....apricot and pineapple salsa, sounds strange but its SO GOOD!!!!
Reply:Simple. Making jam out of them is a way to get rid of that nasty acidity. Make sure to put lots of sugar though to drown out the sour taste.
Reply:unripe apricots can cause stomach aches. Gather them up and put them in a paper sack or box in a cool dark place until the ripen. Use them just like you would peaches.

To ripen apricots, place them in a sealed plastic or paper bag and keep them at room temperature.

Reply:I agree you have to ripen them first. Place in a paper bag and keep in a cool dry place. Then make Cobbler!



Apricot Cobbler



Filling:

1 lb. fresh apricots, halved



Topping:

1 cup flour

1 cup sugar

1/4 cup shortening

1 egg

1/2 tsp. salt

2 tsp. baking powder



Combine ingredients and sprinkle topping over apricots; bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

Delicious served with ice cream

get them off the ground as fast as you can

spread them out on a sheet of plywood OR.

keep them dry.

Put an add in your paper 'free to pick up'.
Reply:Apricot liquor don't know how but it is the only thing I can think of....perhaps I need a drink.
