How is it that open air produce stores do not attract very many insects?

If I were an insect, I would be all over the uncovered dried apricots.

How is it that open air produce stores do not attract very many insects?
And according to my calculations the sum of the square root of the gallons of insect repellant times the number of square acres squared must be greater than the number of fruit flies plust the number of dung beetles to the third power, all over two times the number of acres squared.
Reply:That's because you've not seen the sheer scale of insects in the open-air shops in Asia.

My bet is that it's the weather that really is the deciding factor.

Reply:well according to my calculation sum stores have air pruifiers that purify the air and keep any type of arachnit out(insect) but anyways some stores do not have these special pruifiers some others do
