ummmmmmmm it could be cute!

What do you think of the name "Apricot" for a girl! i love it!?
No successful people will ever be named Apricot, well maybe a high dollar stripper.

Do what you want, but this is one that I would suggest go into the "well, maybe not" pile of names.
Reply:Grade school will be hell for her
Reply:It reminds me of Gwenneth Paltrow's ' Apple' name for her daughter. Up until then I had never though of that as a name for a baby. I wonder what nickname people would call Apricot. I mean it does take three syllables so thats a lot to say and some people like to use nicknames when names are that long ( I dont but some do)
Reply:Yes, but only if her middle name was Sorry. Because I'd feel sorry for anyone named after fruit.
Reply:no please. dont do that. no more food names!

How about Jocelyn? or Paige?
Reply:I wouldn't personally use it, but it's not too bad.
Reply:It is nice yes. BUT you must think of school. I am 14 and know that at my school if you were called Apricot it wouldn't be very fun.
Reply:That is as silly as "Apple" Please do not saddle a child with a strange name as she will suffer from teasing for most of her school years April is good or October-shortened to Toby-

The choices are yours and there are sooooo many out there

Have fun with it
Reply:It sounds like the name of a stripper or a porn star to me
Reply:It reminds me of the movie "What a girl wants", " Hi we're Peach and Pear, we have a sister Parsnip, but she doesn't get out much"

Please don't call your child Apricot
Reply:yes its beautiful, just ask my brother nectarine and my sister mango!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Sorry I dont like it. Its like naming your kid Strawberry or Mango.
Reply:I think you'd have to be a celebrity to name your child after a fruit. I think she'd probably get made fun of at school. Sorry.
Reply:I love it! It's very cute!
Reply:I don't like it at all. It's a fruit, not a name for a child.
Reply:No offense but it sounds like a stripper or porn star name. It's like naming your kid Apple. It's a fruit and I think it needs to stay that way.
Reply:use it as nickname
Reply:I think that was a name almost given to someone once, but they changed it to Strawberry Shortcake.......I wouldn't to it. Abigail would be nice.
Reply:fruity.
Reply:She will hate you later in life.
Reply:It's as bad as Apple.

Back to the drawing board.
Reply:It's ok but not something I would use.
Reply:good name if you're raising a stripper.
Reply:How about as a nick-name. I agree with the post about trouble in school...

How about April with the nick name Apricot.

Plus when she is a grown up and applying for jobs it will be "Apricot Jones" or "Apricot Smith" on her applications. If I had to hire an April or an Apricot? I would pick April...

Sorry, I just want to be honest

If you want to pick an original name, at least pick something that is not a food.

My name is Jade, in the 80's when I grew up it wasn't a very common name, but I always got compliments. Biggest trouble is people not understanding "Jade" when I say it. They hear "Jane" because that is so much more common...

so I always say "Jade- like the stone"

Apricot- like the fruit.... doesn't sound as good.

Good luck!
Reply:I don't like the sound of it. Sounds kind of clunky for a name. Plus, it reminds me of Epcot, at Disney World.

For a more unusual botanical name, how about:

Azalea

Hyacinth

Linnea

Zinnia

Posey

Cassia

Tansy

Magnolia

Coriander

Saffron

Iris

Ianthe

Jacinta

Vered

Good luck!
Reply:I love it too! It's as close to peachy as you can get.
Reply:I dont think its cute naming a child Apricot, you have to consider what ur daugther is going to go through during school with that name. Kids are not nice!
Reply:honestly, it's worse than "apple"!
Reply:IM SORRY BUT TO HAVE A NAME AFTER A FRUIT ITS A LITTLE CRAZY HOW BOUT SUMTHING THAT I LIKE MAYBE KIARI :D
Reply:I do love it!
