Is it safe to give a budgie a bit of muesli as a treat?

Either with seed or in a seperate dish.

I got some luxury fruit muesli which contains oat, wheat, baley flakes, dates, dried apricot, apple, banana and strawberries.

I thought with it containing the fruit pieces it might be good for him to have some as a treat, providing it's okay with the other ingredients it contains. Or I could just give him the fruit pieces?

Heya

yeh thats fine.As long as its not to big that the bugdie might choke on.I feed my parrott muesli all the time when we run out of bird food xxx
Reply:If you've ever bought any of the treat mixes they make specifically for birds, you'd know it looks almost EXACTLY like muesli. I buy Higgin's Fruits 'n Nuts, and it looks more like granola than bird food.
Reply:Should be fine. It would actually be pretty good for him. My conure loves treats like that.
Reply:I feed my birds all kinds of cereal and trail mixes, with NO chocolate in them. I feed them pastas, rice, bits of chicken, cooked eggs and cheese, fruit, vegs. They'll love it!
Reply:Yes, perfectly safe. We used to give it to our budgies all the time as something different to eat.

My mate with the aviary also gives it to her birds as an alternative.
