Using apricot scrub for shaving?

I read somewhere that using apricot scrub to shave your bikini area prevents red bumps and irritation. Has anyone ever heard of or tried this, does it work?

Using apricot scrub for shaving?
NO...bad idea, you are not supposed to use scrubs when you shave, not right after you shave either, if you want you can exfloliate before, that would not be a bad idea because it removes dead skin cells. But using scrub, especially one as hard as apricot scrub, it can cause more irritation when you used them as you are shaving. You might not even want to do it afterwards because your skin will be sensitive. . Always use something sudsy and foamy when you are shaving because it makes is smoother so you can not get nicked as easily. Also, make sure your razor is your own and is very sharp. All this advice applies to shaving any part of the body. But shaving a bikini area is very tricky, try alternatives.
Reply:I would think the little bumps of apricot would prevent you from getting a smooth shave and could make the razor dull leading to nicks. I have heard of people exfoliating their bikini area a few times a week (seperate from the shaving process) to keep from getting ingrown hairs. I don't exfoliate and just use Gilette venus divine and either Aveeno positively smooth shave gel or Nivea for men shave gel for sensitive skin and a brand new razor each time I shave my bikini area and have never had a problem with ingrown hairs or irritation since I started doing this combination.
Reply:you want to use it 36 hours after!! you shave. what happens is the seeds thin the top layer of skin making it easier for hairs to come back through... preventing ingrown hairs... but use conditioner for shaving.. it moisturizing the skin while giving you a drag free shave.
Reply:don't use it to shave with.... no no no. use a day later... or a day before. if you can wax, by the way, totally do it over shaving.
Reply:i think using it before would make sense, because it'll take the dirt off your skin.....

but i would stick with shaving creame if i were u...(=
Reply:use conditioner like the other person said
Reply:okay first of all no!! i tried it and it burned me up!!
