I use St Ives Apricot Scrub. Anyone else feel it has been watered down? Can you suggest a good alternative?

Ugh. No, putting sugar all over your face is a rediculous and bad idea, so ignore the answer above. It rubs your skin raw and then dries it out, usually causing a bad breakout.

Do you mean that you feel the scrub has been watered down recently? Or that it has always been thin? It's usually pretty highly recommended, but if they've changed their formula that could be the problem.

What you REALLY need is a good BHA exfoliator. It's a liquid that actually exfoliates the surface of the skin AND the insides of your pores, and does it in a way that is very gentle on the rest of your skin so that it doesn't trigger breakouts. (Everyone's skin is different, so that's not a guarantee, but I have very sensitive skin, and I've never had a problem with it.) It's a method that is recommended by skin care specialists and is considered vastly superior to surface scrubs. (Just a note of personal experience: My blackheads disappeared in a couple of days, and since my pores are now empty, they look like they are tighter. I tend to go based on the specialist evidence more, though.)

The most reasonably priced BHA I've found is Clearasil Acne Fighting Facial Moisturizers ($3.99), but there are many others including Neutrogena Rapid Clear Acne Defense Face Lotion ($7.99) and Paula’s Choice 2% Beta Hydroxy Acid Liquid ($15.95, but it can only be bought on the web, which means you have to pay for shipping). You'll notice that the Clearasil one is not only cheaper, but contains a lot more product, making it WAY cheaper in the long run.

Hope this helps!

before u ditch st ives try using it on dry skin if ur not already..that made a huge difference for me and im glad i didnt switch cuz its pretty cheap..most drugstores have a generic version but its more grainy so if thats what ur lookin for then maybe try that..of u can just add a handful of sugar to ur face wash..i know alot of people that swear by that..

actually sugar isnt bad for ur face as long as u rinse it off completely..i didnt think i had to specify that because its kinda common sense lol. ive never personally tried it but i know people who read it in glamour and cosmo and swear by it..the only stipulation is u have to be gentle with it so u dont scratch the bejesus outta ur face..sorry should have been more specific lol
