How should you prune 3 yr old apricot tree?

apricots,peaches, and nectarines should be cut back every 7 years to where just the main trunk and it's main limbs are there..usually 6 or 7 major limbs left.. They can do with a 'gentle" pruning annually if you like.. here are a few techniques for different trees

How should you prune 3 yr old apricot tree?
Remove crossing branches, small branches and any that look bad. Head back only the very longest leaders.
