Expiration for Apricot Filling?

My mom and I bought Apricot Filling last Christmas, and didnt get to make the cookies. This year we still have it and since the apricot is sold out everywhere and there is no expiration. Does anyone know about how long you can keep Baker Brand Apricot Desert Filling if its never opened?

Somewhere on that can you will find an expiration date - often on one end or the other imprinted into the can, not on the label. Usually this stuff has a pretty long date - several years from the time of manufacture. Assuming that the can is not rusted, dented or bulging anywhere at all then it is probably safe to use.

Remember the cardinal rule though: If in doubt, throw it out! You can always buy a package of dried apricots and make your own apricot filling easily.
Reply:If this is a canned product you will be fine. Often canned food does not have an open code date on it. The manufacturer can tell by the numbers stamped into the lid but they usually won't give you the code. But typically canned products have a long shelf life and you can use it. After you open it if it smells or look bad then pitch it. Good Luck
