I have been using st.Ives apricot scrub and it makes my skin dry. I keep trying to use it yet it gets to dry it hurts my skin. Is it only me??
Does saint Ives apricot scrub make your skin dry?
its only u i think b/c it doesn't doing any thing to me or my friends
Reply:I really like that product. Make sure you aren't using the one with the medication in it. Salycic acid I think is how it's spelled. They make more than one kind of apricot scrub. I use the original.
Reply:it depends on your skin type. to me, it doesn't work that well but i know for others, it works quite effectievly. just try experimenting different products until you find the best that suits your skin.
i personally like johnson and johnson's.
Reply:it was voted product of the year i use it and i think its great. you must choose the right one though, there is one for oily skin, combination and dry. check you didn't pick up the oily one by mistake!!
Reply:You might be exfoliating too hard or too often. Ease up and your skin should go back to normal.
Reply:I wouldn't use apricot scrub or any "natural" scrub. It's too rough on your skin and can break tiny blood vessels. I'd use a scrub with tiny "micro beads". You shouldn't use anything that makes your skin dry.
Reply:Could be? It works great for me. I use it every morning.
Reply:i use it and i have generally dry skin due to eczema, but i find this is not a problem for me. However, ity must be something in the scrub, it could in fact be the fact it is a scrub. I would try and find a face wash that doesn't exfoliate because that would be the reason why your skin is reacting to it. I used Clearasil Deep Cleanse SENSITIVE and that works amazingly. If you do want to exvoliate, use a damp towel or face cloth instead, that gets ridd of the scaly skin. Whichever way you do it, straight after drying your face, use a very gentle moisturizer, if fact, the best one is one that you buy Boots own brand, its called aqueous cream, sold in white tubes/tubs with blue leaves on. Its made for dry skin and eczema, so it is a great buy, its not expensice, about £3. If it doesn't get better, i suggest going to see the doctor, and they vcould fix the whole dry skin problem.
Reply:St Ives Apricot Scrub works real well %26amp; is a good product. This is an exfoliator, so keep in mind you are suppose to apply not that much, wet your face with warm water and scrub the cream on for atleast 1 mins, exfoliators such as these are only meant to be used no more than 2 times a week. Excessively using this more than once a day can definitely dry out the skin, somtimes making your skin worse %26amp; break out.
