What is the best order and combination for toast toppings and consumption?

I first eat the one with peanut butter and then the one with smooth apricot jam and then the marmite definitely last. It gets complicated however when you mix and match eg half the first p/butter then half the smooth apricot jam then the other peanut butter one etc. etc. PS right now I am eating a marmite, the king. It so happens Idon't have any P/Butter or smooth apricot jam - luckily I had dinner tonight so just the pre bed marmite toast will do................

The order of application is simple:

The fatty substance is always the base layer (peanut butter, cream cheese, butter, hummus, etc). This is because, being a fatty substance, it will adhere to the bread better than any of the other substances. Also, being a fatty substance, it would be hard to apply to a watery substance (jelly, jam, eggplant spread, etc).

The second layer is the watery substance (jelly, jam, eggplant spread, etc). I called these watery because they come from fruit and veggies and at the core of it fruits/veggies are mostly water.

The third layer would be solids such as banana slices, cucumber slices, caviar, cheese. These would stick to any whatever substance has already been applied.

Personally, I like to very lightly toast the bread, apply the butter and then continue the toasting process so that the application is more even and the buttery goodness is inbedded within the toast.
