Katy Apricot Tree???
Have a 2 year Katy Apricot Tree,as yet has not blossemed, nor has Born fruit WHY????
Katy Apricot Tree???
Plants have to mature sexually just like animals. Your tree is too young. These trees will usually begin blooming around 5-6 years old. If it was blooming when you bought it, it was artificially induced so you could see the blooms before you bought it.

Has anyone used apricot kernels/vit b17/laetrlie in fight against cancer, any results?
There is no documented scientific evidence that this product has ever been of benefit to cancer patients. There is almost a religous type following of the product however so you will surely get people who have never had cancer try to convince you. But, any studies that have been done indicate that it doesn't do any good at all and tumors will progress. So, if the arsenic in the product doesn't poison you, than the untreated cancer will.
There is no such thing, by the way, as 'vit b17' . . its just a friendly name for arsenic . . those who promote this product needed to call it something other than a deadly poison so the vitamin was invented.

Of course I meant cyanide and not arsenic. Doesn't change my opinion of this being ranked as a quack med. And, for anyone who doesn't know . . my teenage son has a rare advanced cancer. We have investigated hundreds of treatments. This one doesn't pan out. Report It
Reply:Wake up! The world is run by Drug and Sugar companies, just do research to see who is affiliated with QUACKWATCH or even look at the vested interest within the governments and Cancer Charities. For your sons sake just look thoughly at Metabolic Therapy then make an informed decision Report It
Reply:Ignorance. First of all, Quackwatch, to people willing and capable of doing their own research, is the quackery of information. If you look to Quackwatch for your education, there may be no hope for any of you. What a biased load of gullible rubbish.
Apricot kernels do not contain arsenic - they do, however, contain a component of cyanide. Not free cyanide; the sort found in dark glass bottles with a skull %26amp; crossbones, but a bound molecule containing cyanide. No, B17 hasn't been recognised by the mainstream as a vitamin, but it was coined as such as it was determined a dietary element necessary to the body. The failure to recognise this is the issue here.
Amygdalin (B17) has been proven time and again to be effective against cancer. If none of you believe in the pharmaceutical agenda to bury alternative medicine, you've got your heads in the sand. Do you honestly believe, after decade upon decade of failed amygdalin use, the overwhelming data would cast a favourable light on this alternative therapy? Would it really have an almost "religious" following if it truly was ineffective? Why? Forget about the clinical studies designed to fail. Anecdotal evidence is far superior to clinical trials. I'd take the authentic accounts of thousands of individuals over the results of a handful of lab rats any day.
Apricot kernels are not a cure for cancer, but this is not to say that they aren't a crucial component to a metabolic approach to overcoming cancer. Their scientifically acknowledged role in battling cancer lies in their selective ability to slow and halt the growth and spread of cancer cells. If one were to consume apricot kernels alone, they'd be unlikely to succeed. About as unlikely as if they were to undergo conventional therapy. However, through dietary adjustments and the addition of a number of other important supplements, metabolic therapies are the most effective approach to overcoming cancer that exists. Not on one's last legs, but before destroying the immune system with conventional treatment.
If any of you or your family are ever diagnosed with cancer - I dearly hope you'll reconsider your position on alternative treatments. Of course - don't be a fool about it. Look for overwhelming anecdotal evidence. This is where you'll find the truth. If the overwhelming evidence suggests quackery, by all means, keep searching. But this is not the case with amygdalin (vitamin B17, apricot kernels, laetrile). Do some research and consider the agendas of your sources.
Reply:I'm sure there are people out there who have tried this.
Is there any evidence it works? NO
Would I try it personally? NO ...... unless something changes in the future and I decide it would be fun to try play Russian Roulette and investigate safe arsenic doses from a personal level.
Reply:I was going to answer this question, but now I don't need to - Panda's excellent answer has left nothing out. I share your enthusiasm for Quackwatch Panda, it's a very useful site.
Wherever there is cancer there is a ruthless person ready to take money for an unproven - and in this case dangerous - 'cure'. Remember that you have no way of knowing if someone claiming a miraculous 'cure' ever had cancer in the first place, and treat anecdotal evidence with great caution.
EDIT: Kumala, you say you wouldn't use apricot kernels as an alternative to conventional treatment. Please don't use them at all - as well as being ineffective against cancer, they are dangerous.
Reply:I am sorry to say it is quite useless.
(Thanks a lot to Panda and lo_mcg for introducing me to Quackwatch, which I had not heard of before. There are many quack 'remedies ' I have not come across before. My trick is to take an incurable condition, put the word cure after it and enter it into google. It is frightening to see how many millions of sites (literally) feed on the misery of others, little seems to have changed in 100 years of quackery. )
Doctors are far from perfect, and some of them have acted in some very dubious ways over the years, but give me conventional therapy every time.
Reply:I believe that there was one case that claimed success with this treatment. And as to whether it was scientifically monitored and fully documented is doubtful. Consider the many thousands of people that are treated and saved using proven medicine and treatment, I guess you need to ask yourself are you "feeling lucky" to take B17 arsenic on the chance tat it will cure and that you may be the second successful case?
Sorry to say there are all too many claims floating around of such miraculous undocumented or scientifically verifiable treatments, which prey on those in need the most!
And just for the record there is no such vitamin as B17! Just call it by what it really is "Arsenic".

How to use apricot FACIAL SCRUB...?
Can i use it regularly.....thanx
How to use apricot FACIAL SCRUB...?
Exfoliating also has its side effects-too much and harsh use can really really spoil your skin. If you want to do it on a daily basis, use a mild one like St.Ives after cleaning your skin.
The frequency of using a scrub depends on age and type of skin-teenage and oily with lotsa pimples can use once or twice a week-dry or aging skin- mild one everyday.
Apricot is very good for skin and is used in skin polishes. But always remember to clean your face first, exfolite and then moisturise.
Best done before sleep as it helps skin to breathe and the skin repair process is max during sleep.
Do this and you will have beautiful skin-alwayz.
Reply:you can use it daily, i would say only once, and i suggest using it in the shower because the little beads are used in the scrub are hard wash out with the sink. Just close your eyes tight and scrub really really hard and wash with steaming warm water.
Reply:I wouldnt suggest everyday usage of it since its a scrub and that would be too harsh for the delicate skin of your face.
scrubs are great because they slough away dead skin cells which cause your skin to look dull and give you an uneven skin texture. I use st. ives apricot scrub blackhead and blemish to get even more out of it, its a scrub and its also got 2% salicylic acid which is one of the main things that dermatologists suggest to clear/prevent acne blemishes!
i know that the st ives scrubs are too coarse to use daily because the apricot shells arent ground up very fine.. so id use it every 2-3 days. They have like 6 different apricot scrubs in their line including a sensitive skin formula!
hope this helped!
Reply:i use it everyday to clean my face after i take my make up off.
i have st. ives, so its gentle enough for my face, and it scrubs the dead skin off gently. it also gets rid of any excess oils left from my make up and the baby oil i use to take it off.
i just wet my face, put a small amount in my hand, and use the other hand to apply it to my face. i scrub with my fingertips in circular motions. then rinse and make sure you moisturize your face when you get done if you have dry skin.
but you have to make sure it works for you and your skin. everyone has dif skin types, so what i do may not work for you.
good luck :)
Reply:I use it every other day. Exfoliating too often can be too abrasive for your skin. I swear by that St. Ives stuff. It's cheap and it works. Just work it in circular motions and don't scrub it on your skin.
Reply:i would use the scrub like every other day
i would use the apricot cleanser every day that you are not using the scrub.
becuase the scrub has the potential of drying or redness.
also, just use it like you would use any face wash.
good luck
Reply:Every 2-3 days.
Reply:Apricot scrub will exfoliate your skin to remove build up and open clogged pours.
Reply:I say use it every other day or twice a week. In my experience, it's always dried out my face (especially my T zone) if I use it every day. But it all depends on your skin type. Just make sure to use moisturizer on your face afterwards. :)

What is the best way to freeze apricots?
I want to freeze my fresh apricots so that I can make jam/preserves later in the year. What is the best way to freeze them? Do they need to be peeled and sugared?
What is the best way to freeze apricots?
Ice chest with frozen Co2( often used to ship meats through the mail) direct contact is needed...bottom line, freeze em hard and fast, then fish them out and put em in the freezer.
Reply:Send them out without their snow shoes, gloves and scarf. :)

~~~Is St. Ives Gentle Apricot Scub any good?~~~?
I have acnified, oily skin...is St. Ives any good??? Should I use the gentle apricot scrub, or what? What do you recommend?
~~~Is St. Ives Gentle Apricot Scub any good?~~~?
I'd used the regular st. ives scrub many years ago, and it was way too harsh for my sensitive skin. I use cetaphil facial cleanser as my main facial wash and for a scrub, one can just mix some baking soda with the cetaphil and use that 1-2 times a week (any more may be too harsh for one's skin). I got the baking soda/cetaphil tip from author Paula Begoun in her book 'Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me'.
Reply:I've used it before, but it doesn't improve my skin condition. And the beads are a little too rough for my liking, so I switch to The Body Shop's Seaweed Pore-Cleansing Facial Exfoliator, which is gentler.
Reply:I love it too. I use the Acne-Prone formula and it works really well. About the only thing I sometimes have trouble with is when I use it and really scrub, then rinse my face in hot water, sometimes my face gets red. But if you use lukewarm water, you ought to be okay. I remember my great grandma used to use it, no joke... haha. It's great stuff though, and it's dirt cheap.
Reply:Yes, Oh Yes! This product is consistently voted as one of the best celebrity beauty secrets! I've used it for years and even though I buy a variety of more expensive beauty products, I've discovered that there's no reason whatsoever to buy expensive scrubs!! As long as they keep making it, I'll buy St. Ives Apricot Scrub!
BTW, since you have acne prone skin, you'll definitely want to go with the Gentle formula! Good Luck!
Reply:I use the same thing but only 2-3 times a week. I love it! I have really oily skin and black heads and it really helps control my problems. Remember not to over use it or you can do more damage than good. Good luck!
Reply:I used that stuff when I was young, and I loved it....It's made out of ground apricot pits, I think. The didn't have a gentle formula when I used to use it, but since they do offer a gentle product now, I think I'd try that first! Good luck!
Reply:I have used both regular scrub from st. ives and the one for senstive skin and my skin is sensitive/combination. The regular never bothered my skin though. For you I believe they actually have one for acne prone skin. St. Ives face scrubs are good and also inexpensive. They are the only face scrubs I use and I would recommend them. The one I am using now says it is gentle enough for everyday use.(the one for sensitive skin)
Reply:1] use the formula for your skin type. If you have oily, use that, sensitive, use that.
2] use it every day for two weeks. Initially you will have more zits because the deeper ones will surface, but then the new clear skin will show up.
3] buy face wash, toner, sunscreen, and moisturizer for your skin type. Use wash, toner, sunscreen in AM, and wash, toner, moisturizer in PM.
4] use Aapri or St Ives apricot scrub to exfoliate twice a week.
5] avoid fried, fast, or junk food - even diet junk food.
6] drink 1/2 gallon of water a day.
7] take a quality multivitamin with minerals every day.
8] keep hands and hair off face.
9] use non-comdogenic makeup [ on package label ].
Reply:I have been using this product for about eight years now and I love it. For skin with acne, try the one for oily skin first. I use the invigorating now, because my acne isn't so bad anymore. Its wonderful because no matter how dry your skin is, it moisturizes and cleans away dead skin.
:) Love it.
