What's the difference between face cleaner and skin exfoliator?

I decided I'm no longer gonna buy men's face cleaner. I think girl's face cleaner is same thing and costs three dollars less for more produce....or at least for the low end girl face cleaners. Anyways, what is a good face cleaner for women that men can use from walmart? i bought some stuff called "apricot exfoliating face scrub." Is that good for men? They also had stuff called "face cleaner" as opposed to exfoliater. What do I need?

Face cleaner you can use everyday, twice a day, whatever. every time you wash your face. Yeah if you wanna use women's instead of mens and no one is going to make fun of you for it, I say go ahead. Anyway, exfoliator has little pieces of stuff in it (in this case, ground apricot seed) that scrubs all the dead skin cells and junk off your face. You dont need to use that everyday (nor should you) just two or three times a week (or read the directions on the bottle) because its harsher. I'd use both, to really take care of your skin. But if you're only getting one definitely get the face cleanser.
Reply:you need a facial cleanser not an exfoliater,

an exfoliater you use every other day or three times a week and a facial cleanser you use all the time, you could buy neutrogena oil free acne wash or Biore ice cleanser both around $5 hope i helped ya!
Reply:cleanser just cleans the surface, exfoliates cleans and removes dead skin and softens the skin
Reply:Exfoliator is rougher on the skin and is only used periodically to remove old skin cells. A facial cleaner is more gentle and not grainy so that it can be used twice a day. Cetaphil Sensitive Skin is an awesome cleaner. The difference between a woman's cleanser and a man's cleanser is marketing.
Reply:exfoliator takes a small layer of skin off, cleaner just cleans it
