Is it true that Apricot Scrubs cause DERMAL TEARS????

I used to use Apricot Scrubs everyday maybe even 2 or 3 times a day... and my cousin said I shouldn't use scrubs... especially Apricot Scrubs-for Acne prone skin because it causes dermal tears??

I don't know what dermal tears are!!

and I don't think I ever had one either.

So does anybody know if it's true??

Is it true that Apricot Scrubs cause DERMAL TEARS????
Yes any kind of scrub can cuase the skin to rip and become rashed and brusied! there are scrubs for sensitive skin. dermal rips is when the first layer of skin was broken and irritation occurs or acne break outs and infections, or dark spots
Reply:Yes they can. What it comes down to is how the scrubs are refined. If they are just grounded up and put into a product, then they can cause dermal tears. Simply put dermal tears are minute little tears in the top layer of skin. Some tears can be very small and not noticeable to the eye. Your best bet is to use a scrub that states the granules are refined and processed. There are plenty on the market that won't tear the skin but they will cost a little more as well. At a young age tiny dermal tears are not a big deal, it is when you age that it can be a problem. Tiny tears in the skin can cause the skin to scar, stretch out because the elastin and collagen has been destroyed. These latter two things are what can causes major aging and sagging to the skin. Something mature women ( anyone over 25 fall into this category) fear and pay ton of money to reverse and prevent. Thus pay a little more for a more refine3d scrub and your skin will love you for it.
Reply:Yeah, I used to use that, too. I read that you should use scrubs with round gentler particles, not the jagged rough ones. I just bought the scrub from Clean and Clear and I love it! It feels really nice on my skin, and it is gentle enough to use everyday.

I don't know about dermal tears, but I know that the rough scrubs make your skin more prone to breakouts and oil.
