Does canned pineapple work with jello?

I am canning apricot-pineapple jam and have a recipe that calls for jello and don't want to waste my fruit on a recipe that dosen't work.

Does canned pineapple work with jello?
It works just dandy with pizza; try it.
Reply:Yes
Reply:it workes the best do it all the time
Reply:Not according to the jello package..as I remember I D K W??

why not use a real recipe

check gelatin and corn starch and flour..???
Reply:You can only use canned pineapple with jello or any other kind of gelatin dish. Fresh pineapple, as well as a few other fruits, have an enzyme that will not allow the gel to set up. The heat that is used to pasteurize the canned pineapple turn off that enzyme.
Reply:Yes! You cannot use fresh pineapple with Jello.
Reply:Just drain it real well before you add it to the jello. Boy EVERYBODY is cookin' up a storm today. I better do the same..Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Reply:It will work perfectly
Reply:Be sure to drain it good or replace some of the water in the recipe with pineapple juice instead
